Great field-fares abound. My well rises.
Great field-fares abound. My well rises.
Truly winter-weather. Red-wings abound.
Planted long rows of tulips in the garden, & field. Linnets flock.
The vines are naked, & the grapes exposed to the frost. The crop is very large. The farmers complain that the ground is too dry for sowing.
Gathered-in the berberries, a great crop.
The rooks carry-off the wallnuts, & acorns from the trees. One house-martin appears: by it’s air & manner it seemed to be a young one: it scouted along as if pinched with the cold.
The hanger & my hedges are faintly tinged with a variety of shades & colours. Ravens play over the hanger.
Near 40 ravens have been playing about over the hanger all day.
