Last night the moon was midway between Mars & Venus: she is this evening just above, close above the former, at the seeming distance of two feet.
Things froze in the pantry. Shallow snow: ground very hard.
Venus sheds again her silvery light on the walls of my chamber, &c. & shadows very strongly.
Venus shadows very strongly, showing the bars of the windows on the floors & walls.
The wheatfields so hard that they carry a waggon & horses.
