Sheep die frequently on the common, tho’ so wholesome a spot.  Ravens flock on the hanger.

Hedge-hogs bore holes in the grass-walks to come at the plantain roots, which they eat upwards.

First blanched endive.  Some wheat standing still.  A few wasps.  Inyx still appears.

Much wheat still abroad.  Hop-picking becomes general: there is a vast crop.
