Farmers put-up their fatting hogs.

Planted long rows of tulips in the garden, & field.  Linnets flock.

The vines are naked, & the grapes exposed to the frost.  The crop is very large.  The farmers complain that the ground is too dry for sowing.

Gathered-in the berberries, a great crop.

The rooks carry-off the wallnuts, & acorns from the trees.  One house-martin appears: by it’s air & manner it seemed to be a young one: it scouted along as if pinched with the cold.

The hanger & my hedges are faintly tinged with a variety of shades & colours.  Ravens play over the hanger.

Near 40 ravens have been playing about over the hanger all day.
