21 cocks of hay lying still in Baker’s hill.
Snow lies on the hay-cocks in Baker’s hill!
Saw seven ring-ouzels on the old hawthorns at Clay’s barn. Part of the hay in Baker’s-hill was cocked & housed: it smells well, & is not so much damaged as might have been expected.
Dug up my potatoes, a poor crop: many of them are rotten.
Timothy the tortoise lies in the laurel-hedge, but is not buried.
Much hay-making all the way. Hay housing at Alton.
