Thunder, lightening & hail before day-break. Hen chaffinches congregate.

Wood-pigeons abound in the fields. Some lambs fall.
Roses bud in hothouses; french beans thrive: Ananas carry some late fruit.
Shell-less snails crawl forth. Red-breast, hedge-sparrow, wren sing. Worms come out on the turf by night. Great rain.
Damp moist air. Large broods of long-tailed titmice.
Green-finches in a vast flock: them seem to feed on the seeds of echium vulgare.
