The hedge-sparrow makes its winter piping.

Glass sinks very fast. Sheep feed in the night.
A few stock-doves, Oenas, sive vinago, or wood-pigeons appear.
Grass grows. Ricks much torn at Faringdon.
Vast storm broke some boughs, & tore thatch.
Golden-crowned wren on the tops of trees.
Swan’s egg-pears in high perfection. This was the last time the Oedecnemus was heard for this year.
North lights every evening. Six martins appeared flying under ye hanger. Thunder & lightening with vast rain.
